REVIEW: e.l.f Essential Brightening Eye Color in Drama

In terms of eye makeup, I think there isn't anything sexier and more sophisticated than the classic smoky eye look. That's why I want to try that. I’m still learning how to make a smoky eye, so I think I’ll purchase this little quad, e.l.f Essential Brightening Eye Color (in Drama), that I'm going to review now. It’s really really cheap so I won’t think twice to use this as much as I want to practice the smoky looks…lol.

Smoky eye. Makeup look ini kayaknya emang udah jadi statement, sexy and sophisticated at the same time. Aku pengeeen banget bisa smoky eye maka dari itu aku pengen belajar gimana cara ngaplikasiinnya. Kadang buat practice berasa agak sayang gitu kalo harus ngeluarin biaya yang nggak sedikit, istilahnya trial and error lah ya. Jadi, aku purchase si mungil yang akan aku coba review kali ini, e.l.f Essential Brightening Eye Color yang variant "Drama".

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

Luxuriously smooth, pigmented formula provides your eyes with a bright and beautiful sweep of rich color. The formula blends into skin for a long lasting, beautiful effect. Each quad is comprised of 4 coordinating shades that allow for both natural and dramatic looks. Built-in mirror and applicator included.

INGREDIENTS:

Talc, Mica, Zinc Stearate, Kaolin, Paraffinium Liquidu (Mineral Oil), Petrolatum, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Methylparaben, Propylparaben. May Contain: Iron Oxides (CI 77491 , CI 77492 , CI 77499), Manganese Violet (CI 77742), Mica (CI 77019), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Yellow No.5 Lake (CI 19140), Red No.40 Lake (CI 16035), Ultramarine Violet (CI 77077), Blue No.1 Lake (CI 42090).

FIRST IMPRESSION

Like other e.l.f products, the packaging is sleek and simple. It made from a quite sturdy plastic and unsurprisingly, the words on the front rub-off very easily.
It comes with a double-sided sponge applicator and a tiny mirror. The sponge applicator does pick up the colors, but I found it’s difficult to blend the shadows. I think they are useful enough when you’re in a hurry to doing some touch ups.

Packagingnya standar aja ya, nothing special. Ukurannya kecil jadi gampang dibawa kemana-mana. Didalemnya ada aplikator (yang kualitasnya biasa aja, susah kalo dipake blending) dan cermin kecil yang aku rasa cukup berguna buat touch up.

KNOW IT BETTER

It comes with four shades: a matte white, shimmery silver, shimmery charcoal and shimmery black.

They’re quite pigmented, but as you can see, the white don't show up as well on my skin. The shimmers may bother some people, and there is a bit of fallout on each shades.

The texture is chalky and not too soft, but the staying power is quite good. It stays more than 3 hours on my lids.

The point is: we could always use our favorite primer and eye shadow brushes for better and longer-lasting application.

Quad ini punya empat macem warna, putih, silver, abu-abu dan hitam. Semuanya shimmery kecuali yang warna putih. Pigmentasinya lumayan ya, tapi seperti yang terlihat di gambar di atas, warna putihnya nggak terlalu keliatan di kulitku. Shimmernya emang agak banyak dan kadang fallout nya lumayan ganggu. Teksturnya agak chalky tapi daya tahannya lumayan loh, sekitar 3 jam lebih kalo di aku. Untuk memaksimalkan eye shadow ini sendiri tentu bisa pake eye primer dan brush andalan kita^^

OVERALL OPINION

For the price, the quality isn't that bad. The shades are pigmented enough and blend well (except for the lightest color). It becomes a great companion for beginners like me to starting out smoky eye look. The packaging is not so special but it works, I could just throw it into my pouch and it will fit everywhere. Overall, this product is not perfect, but I think I get what I pay for.

Buat harga segini, kualitas eye shadow ini nggak jelek-jelek amat kok. Pigmentasi dan staying powernya lumayan, dan ukurannya yang kecil bikin bisa langsung dilempar masuk ke pouch hehehe. Overall, walaupun produk ini nggak perfect, tapi aku dapet apa yang aku bayar.

No. This is sure a nice cheap catch, but I only use it for practicing.
